Resurfacing Marble Shower Walls and Floor

The Marble Man stone technicians can restore even severely damaged marble shower walls and floor. First they will inspect the stone surfaces to determine if resurfacing is required or not.

For resurfacing, they use diamond-impregnated pads with special wet polishing machines. The damaged marble surface is subjected to efficient grinding process, working up through a number of grits to a final polish. This process is only required when the surfaces are extremely damaged. Resurfacing the stone without risking damage to the marble surface requires skill and experience.

Benefits of Resurfacing
  • Removes those dull tile surfaces and drip stains from your showers surfaces.
  • Returns a natural high gloss to your tile surface as if it’s new.
  • You will have a high reflection on the tiles again.
  • Your shower will be much easier for you to keep clean.
  • You will have a natural glossy finish without the use of waxes.
  • Area will be longer lasting than waxy finishes.

Sealing Marble, Limestone, Travertine Bathrooms
Sealing Procedure for Stone Surfaces in Bathrooms:
Sealing the stone involves thoroughly cleaning the stone to remove all inground dirt and excess materials on the surface. This is achieved by using special detergents and rotary scrubbers with all materials wet vacuumed dry. The cleaned area is then left to dry overnight. The following day, two coats of penetrating sealant are applied which soak into the stone and dry thereby sealing the pores from foreign materials.

The sealers used by Marble Man do not alter the surface appearance or colour of the stone. Penetrating sealers do not prevent etching from occurring on the surface of marble and limestone.

After sealing the marble surfaces they will be easier to keep clean, but most importantly will not allow any liquids into the surface. Instead you’ll notice any liquid just beads on the surface. Sealing also helps to reduce the amount of mould growth in showers as it reduces the amount of water that finds its way beneath and behind the tiles. After sealing the area, when maintained using our maintenance process, the sealer will last up to 15 years.

Benefits of Stone or Marble Sealing
  • Seals the surface to stop liquids and dirt from penetrating the stone surfaces.
  • Seals the grouting to help stop liquids and dirt staining them.
  • The areas will be easier to keep clean.
  • Sealing will reduce the scum build-up in your showers.
  • Will help prevent mould growth in the shower.
  • By using a penetrating sealer the stone will be able to breathe naturally.
